Full Membership Guidelines of Asian Planning Schools Association (APSA)
- Full Membership shall be opened to all degree granting academic programmes and institutions in Asia with planning curricula. Representative of Full Member may attend meetings of the Association, participate in its discussions and deliberations, vote, and hold office.
- The geographical coverage of the Association shall be the same as the geographical coverage of Asia of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) which includes East and South East Asia, South Asia and Central Asia which includes Afghanistan, Bhutan, Iran (Islamic Republic of), Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives, Nepal, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
- The Association is not a planning school accreditation organization. It is only an association for the networking of planning schools in Asia. It has to rely on the professional institutes and existing members of different countries/special regions to inform the Association which are the accredited/recognized planning schools in their respective country/special region.
- The Executive Committee shall approve a list of planning schools in Asia from time to time after consulting the respective professional planning institutes. If there is no professional planning institute in a country/special region, then the existing member(s) of that country/special region will be consulted.
- If there is no existing member or professional institute of a country/special region, the Council will decide based on the recommendation of the Executive Committee whether a school is considered to eligible to become a Full Member of the Association.
- Planning schools in Asia can apply or be invited to join the Association as Full Members with the following privileges :
- Full Member School will be listed in the web site of the Association.
- Teaching staff and students of Full Member School will be eligible for discounted registration fees for all the activities, including the biennial Congress, of the Association.
- Each Full Member School shall be represented in the Association by the individual contact persons it has nominated.
- Representative of Full Member School may attend meetings of the Association, participate in its discussions and deliberations, vote, and hold office.
- Representative of Full Member School who attend the Congress of the Association can attend the General Assembly.
- Papers presented in the APSA Congress by teaching staff of the Full Member School will be eligible to be nominated to be included in the Dialogue of GPEAN.
- Registration fees. A certain percentage, such as 5%, of the Congress registration fees as proposed by the Executive Committee and approved by the Association from time to time will be charged as membership fees for the operation of the Association.
- Once the application and all required documents are received, the Executive Committee will deliberate upon its approval.
